MKW developed a comprehensive master plan for Journal Square, a busy historic intermodal center, and the surrounding retail business district. The Plan included design of a grand civic plaza with fountain, terrace and the relocated Columbus Statue; relocation of existing taxi queue; and overall upgrade of the existing streetscape. Coordinated pavement, lighting, site furniture and landscape elements establish a clear and unified Downtown. The hub acts as focal element and traffic control for both pedestrians and vehicles at the Square.
