Crystal Point prominently situated across the Hudson River between Midtown and Lower Manhattan, the project capitalizes on the spectacular views of the New York City skyline. Due to space restrictions, the outdoor space surrounding this new residential tower was conceived of as a multi-level experience with varying degrees of public / private access. As such, an abundance of programmatic needs were able to be incorporated into the design resulting in a series of terraced social spaces that include an entry plaza, upper terrace, outdoor cafe, terraced seat wall alcoves, rooftop pool and lounge, and a waterfront promenade. Additionally, rich materials, sculptural granite block seating, and a coastal plains planting palette tie the spaces together while imbuing them with a casual elegance and bringing a touch of the shore to this stretch of the river.
