Location: Queens, New York
Client: New York City Department of Parks & Recreation

Frank Golden Memorial Park includes a natural turf, irrigated, Gaelic football field.  Goal posts, safety netting as required, team benches and a scoreboard provided. New sports lighting illuminates the new field and new chain link fencing and gates secure the site along 132nd Street.

The entire site is easily accessed at an upper elevation from 14th Road by a new concrete walkway to a colored concrete-paved terrace. Picnic tables occur within the lawn areas that flank the walkway.

Extending from the terrace is a concrete walkway parallel to the top of seating treads. These seating steps moderate the grade difference between the upper level and field level.  The treads are covered by synthetic turf to minimize maintenance concerns along these somewhat narrow strips.  A concrete accessible ramp provides code-compliant access from the upper elevation down to field level, and an asphalt walkway connects the lower field area to the rest of Frank Golden Park.
