Indian Lake is a 3-acre urban lake within Crotona Park, a 127-acre park characterized by rolling lawns, mature trees and rock outcroppings in the South Bronx. The vision for the redesign celebrates the natural beauty of the landscape and restores the lake and its surroundings to reestablish the water and it's Boathouse as the centerpiece of the Park and the premier location for picnicking, passive recreation and performances. The lake's edge was naturalized in an environmentally responsible manner and water quality was improved via aeration devices, erosion control, vegetative filtering and the creation of a new stream corridor and settling pond.
