Ms. Prajapati joined the firm in 2024 as a Jr. Landscape Architect. She graduated with a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL in May 2024.
At MKW, Ms. Prajapati is involved in a wide range of phases of the design process. Her contributions to the team include preparing concept and schematic design presentations, producing graphics to communicate design ideas to clients, participating in community meetings and assisting the team with construction documentation.
Ms. Prajapati is currently developing construction documents for the third phase of Rockland Lake State Park’s Tree Management and Planting Plan. The project has the goal of restoring the park’s tree population after a decline caused by invasive pests and heavy site compaction. In collaboration with arborists and parks staff, MKW has successfully documented 200 trees within 35 acres of the park in the last 2 years.
She is also working on construction documents for Allen & Pike Street malls in the Lower East Side of New York City. The project will introduce expanded open space on the malls, improved bike lanes, site lighting, benches, tables, shade trees & lush planting - spanning 5 city blocks.
Prior to joining MKW + Associates, Ms. Prajapati worked as a Landscape Intern at a landscape architecture firm where she participated in the Michigan Avenue Summer Plant Installation in Chicago, IL. With fellow team members, she installed 1000+ plants across the site.
She also has a degree in Architecture from Mumbai University where she worked with an Architecture firm to develop 2D and 3D construction drawings for residential and mixed-use development. She also researched and documented UNESCO Heritage Site project on well-known Stepwell ‘Rani ki Vav’ located Patan, Gujarat. Her research includes understanding the subterranean water system and how this stepwell can be revived during her academic career.
